France was America's first friend in the world. 2 and a 1/4 centuries later, France became a real French Ho: Tyrannical despots paid billions for France's legitimacy as a democracy, her veto at the UN, and her formidible diplomatic influence in the world. Americans were flat out dissed at Chirac's thug hugging, french kissy diplomacy voltiguer against the Great Satan.
Zero sum multipolar tete a tete that seemed unreal in a post 911 world filled with totalitarian regimes, semi radical leagues, and super villian terrorists.

France has got her act together and it is sweet indeed to hook back up with America's oldest friend. French President Nicolas Sarkozy perfectly explained what the Great Satan was all about:

"From the very beginning, proving to all mankind that freedom, justice, human
rights and democracy were no utopia but were rather the most realistic policy
there is and the most likely to improve the fate of each and every person."

This universal appeal, this desire for liberty, this equality and brotherhood is truely unique:

"What made America great was her ability to transform her own dream into hope
for all mankind. This is the moral value of America. America did not teach men
the idea of freedom; she taught them how to practice it. And she fought for this
freedom whenever she felt it to be threatened somewhere in the world."

And fight she does. Sarkozy praised Americans who make the ultimate sacrifice at freedom's altar, who literally fullfilled the hallowed lyrics of the last verse of the Battle Hymn of the Republic "As He died to make men Holy - let us die to make men free". For the thousands of American white crosses and stars of David American GI's earned liberating France, Sarkozy expressed a nation's heartfelt thanks:

"To those 20-year-old heroes who gave us everything, to the families of those
who never returned, to the children who mourned fathers they barely got a chance
to know, I want to express France's eternal gratitude."

Sarkozy reinforced the truth that intolerant, nonegalitarian, unfree regimes and ideologies cannot survive with America unbound:

"The terrorists had thought they would weaken you. They made you greater."

Promising a commitment to NATO, Sarkozy held out his hand to swear an oath of alliance, with all the technology and military power only democracies can create, maintain and wield in victory against agents of totalitarianism.

"It is this ambitious France that I have come to present to you today. A France
that comes out to meet America to renew the pact of friendship and the alliance
that Washington and Lafayette sealed in Yorktown."

For France and America - this truly is the very def of tried and true old friendship. Forgiveness, faith and the future.

"Today we must fight to defend and promote the values and ideals of freedom and
democracy that men such as Washington and Lafayette invented together. "

France was America's first friend in the world. Together again.

Pervez Musharraf and the Deathly Hallows

Pakistan has it all - nuclear weaponry, Al Qaeda, Taliban, Islamic rage boy and a blood enemy of the Great Satan who cannot seem tO Be Located. The Land of the Pure also has General President Musharraf. The last of the whiskey drinking, swagger stick carrying, anglophile Generals.

Last indeed.

Couped into power in 1999, America's fave unelected General President hasn't really lived up to his resume' - especially since the day history started. The General President's synopsis of the Deathly Hallows is very open:

"I had to battle against these four accusations single handedly to cool
international temperatures against Pakistan.
All the terrorist activity in Afghanistan had its base in Pakistan
All the freedom struggle in Indian Held Kashmir was Cross Border Terrorism from

And that's the problem. After nearly 10 billion bucks in cash from the Great Satan and 6 years of nothing but love - Pakistan is coming apart. Martial Law, media blackout, independent judiciary under house arrests. A true Military government with a military crackdown on everyone except, well, the new improved Super Villian Caliphate. What the heck is going on? Imported Al Qaeda Talibanish pocket caliphates developing abilities and tactics, targetable leaders and a surging offensive rolling up Pakistans Federal Tribal areas.

While comparisons to the Shah of Iran back in the Pre Islamic Republic days exist, perhaps the Philippines are a better example. Long ago, an essential sovereign ally of the Great Satan was ruled by a simularly ineffective leader. Maintaining power required traditional remedy's: faux elections, unfree media and the secret police.

In the Philippines - the Great Satan was at her best. Refusing to confer legitimacy (thanks in large part to a Straussian purest by the name of Paul Wolfowitz), America forsook General Marcos, his 1st Lady's 20K shoe collection and allowed the Philippines a choice.

As Great Britain once defined

the universal values of the human spirit, and anywhere--anywhere, anytime
ordinary people are given the chance to choose, the choice is the same:
freedom, not tyranny; democracy, not dictatorship; the rule of law, not the
rule of the secret police.

The Philippines made the same choice - she became the open, free wheeling allied society that she is today.

"The Deathly Hallows" featuring the General President as indespensible to prevent a militant mohammedist revolution is over.

The Great Satan has overtly and covertly carried the Global War on Terror into Pakistan's chaotic border regions simply because Musharraf's addiction to the power play of the deathly hallows has demanded American intervention. The president general would do well to heed the Great Satan's patronly advice.

"My message was that we believe strongly in elections and that you ought to
have elections soon. You can't be the president and the head of the military at the same time. My message was very plain, very easy to understand, and that is, the United States wants you to have the elections as scheduled and take your uniform off."

Jealousy

"Jealousy - such an evil thang" are lyrics breathed rather than sung (ala Jessica Simpson) on a track on Paris Hilton's CD. It also provides a wickedly clever sound track to the current, weirdly comical death throes of the know it all club of Realism.

"Realpolitik" is a hold over from an old school era. Instantly Americanized by The Great Satan into 'Realism', America didn't care how unfree, how uncool, how total despotism was in nations - as long as they kept out the Commies and Mohammedist fundies they could treat their own people as they wished. Protection gauranteed. Good times.

Ah, the avatar realists - hallowed names in American statecraft like Baker, Scowcroft, Talbot and Kissinger. Alas many of their ilk cannot come to terms with fact that 911 incinerated their ideas and policies just as surely as the nearly 3K innocents who showed up for work that day.

Dr.Fred Kaplan's bizarro "Condi is a Retard' 2 page rant in the Washington Post. Cats who spent their entire adult lives explaining, expounding and exploiting their amoral Cult of Stability are NOT going down without a fight.

"Jealousy such a wicked thang" blinds one to their own failures. Like pursuing stability. In the real world (no pun intended) this thug hugging theory brought no stability, no peace and no democracy. Kaplan and Co have left a mess that has spawned instability, terrorism, oil embargoes, genocide and several wars. The Great Satan has had to take out the trash for a world that bought all their outdated ideas.

Now this is particularly RICH ya'll - keep in mind Dr. Kaplan's main claim to fame is the unhappy fact he was the mentor for Ex Def Sec Les Aspin. The cat who was sacked for stopping the armored sons of the Great Satan from following their spiritual paw paws like Generals Sherman and Patton and totally annihilating our enemies in the 'Black Hawk Down' episode.

A case could be made that Dr. Kaplan is THE 'spiritual enboldener' of Al Qaeda's 'Strong horse - weak horse' theory.

"Democracy, it turned out, was no cure-all. Democratic governments thrive or crumble on whether they can mediate conflicting claims without much violence. Had Rice only understood this."

Au contraire mon frere! Dr Rice realizes (again no pun intended) what enables free governments to thrive. Her presentation of The Great Satan's "Nonnegotiable Demands of Human Dignity" made it very clear that

"...the rule of law, limits on state power, free speech, religious liberty,
equal justice, property rights, tolerance of difference and respect for
women..."

are the model for success.

Dr Kaplan seems distressed and slightly unhinged as he dings Dr Rice for the July August War of 2006 and disses her for telling Egypt's President for Life

"For 60 years the United States has pursued stability at the expense of
democracy in this region and we achieved neither. Now we are taking a different
course."

Dr Kaplan is jealous and downright dissed that Americans haven't chucked her ideas and dialed up 1988 on the Way Back Machine.

"Rice isn't used to failure, and most Americans aren't used to thinking of her as
one."

True enough. Dr Rice and most Americans ARE thinking of 13 years long 'No Fly zones', 'stability', and 'UN Resolutions' as failures that only the Great Satan unbound can rectify.

Another unimportant irony is that Dr. Kaplan has well established bona fides. If only they were matched by common sense.

The Surgin' General's Petraeus Effect

Refugees return home for what must be the first time ever in the ME. Iraq is settling down. Is it success by any other name? Great Britain certainly thinks so and isn't shy about what 'current achievements' may mean for a certain America political party that has turned weak and boring handwringing into an election theme.

The current achievements, and they are achievements, are being treated as almost
an embarrassment in certain quarters. The entire context of the contest for the
Democratic nomination for president has been based on the conclusion that Iraq
is an absolute disaster and the first task of the next president is to extricate
the United States at maximum speed.

America's strategy and tactics in Iraq have been proven correct by a combination of Divine Intervention, good luck, wishful thinking, faith in freedom, spines made of cold rolled steel, High tech weaponry, an all volunteer military of free people and a surge =stay the course mentality.

Knocking out the largest Arab army in history in 20 days, turning Iraq into a giant sucking killing machine, grinding up Saudi rejects, wanna be jihadis', Iranian Minions and Syrian agents. Leaving them dead on the side of the road for a stranger to bury, has magically drawn the Great Satan's enemies into a quagmire that has drained resources, volunteers and their collective willpower. Going to Iraq for jihad now is a dumb thing to do.

And for what? Another short lived pocket caliphate? More failure to create an Iranian leaning super Shia majority in the gov? Iraq is freeing itself block by block, province by province - all done with a certain ex UN Sec General's fave word - "Legitimacy' and backed up at the point of the world famous M-16.

Legitimacy is exactly what the Great Satan is providing in Iraq. Victory is her escort. America has done her best. America's enemies have done their worst - IED's, EFP's, Mahdi Armies (v1.0 - v6.0), Al Qaeda Super Villian terrorists, Islamic Revo Guards are terms that now equal defeated enemies like Waffin SS, kamikaze, Viet Cong and the Taliban.

Despite bare fanged partisan politics, inappropiate, incorrect and downright unAmerican sounding cries of "The War is Lost" , or "The military is broken" . Such characters may very well rue the day they cried out with such inaccuracies that redefine risable and enemy encouragement.

This is a catastrophic miscalculation. Iraq is getting better. That is good, not
bad, news.

A chance to embrace victory faces a certain American political party. Or to deny and miscalculate.

What Would Hiz'B'Allah do?

Hiz'B'Allah is arguably the most dangerous weapon in Iran's arsenal - perhaps the deadliest in the event of an all out attack on the Islamic Republic's Regime. Armed to the teeth with missiles, trained terrorists, sleeper and active cells in the Great Satan. A Martyrs Supreme scenerio - access to Syrian and Iranian old school chemical WMD would be horrible.

To Hiz'B'Allah the idea of using such devices or any attack may be just as horrible. There would be no statue of limitations for an attack on American soil. Once it was traced to HBA or to Iran (and in every instance it has) HBA would be at the mercy of Americans who will not be too concerned about discerning proof beyond reproach, international litmus, or time sensitive 'actionable intell'. And the Great Satan has a track record both of using nukes and utterly destroying her enemies.

In practical terms, however, HBA might consider how
the American response to 9/11 affected al Qaeda and the Taliban - choosing
not to go down that road.

Al Jazeera disses The Lion of Syria with tales of the Great Satan nuking the regimes most treasured items. If true and especially so if it isn't - the message to HBA's Secretary General is that B'Kah Valley is one giant civilian free target rich environment against air forces who pretty much can fly whenever, wherever and destroy whatever they want.. If HBA acts out again - the resulting response could very well take Bashar Al Assad's Syria down with it - an effective wedge driven by the Great Satan.

In last years July August War, reports circulated that the Israeli Air Force demonstrated the Little Satan's uncanny knack for using highly place spies and agents in HBA by destroying 80% of HBA's missiles in less than 3 hours. Effectively setting the Iranian fed and funded terrorists back to the car bomb age, and putting paid to true strategic abilities.

Cranking out missiles like doughnuts, HBA may be fully restocked now, enjoying a thin veneer of 'strategic capabilities'. All the more reason for the Great Satan to turn the B'Kah valley into a collection of smoking craters.

Sweet indeed is the fact that the intertwined rats nest of ties and counter ties between Bashar Al Assad's inherited concept of Kuryat Suriya, Hiz'B'Allah and Iran - that for years semi shielded accountability and deflected suspicion - may very well serve as to take them all the way out - all at one time.

What would Hiz'B'Allah do? Perhaps the REAL question is: What will the Great Satan do?

Purifying The Land Of The Pure

Supervillian Taliban terrorists compounds, Combat with victory and defeat swinging like a pendulum nigh unhinged.
