Faux Flotilla

Ahoy!

Daemoneoconically delish Danielle Pletka dreadnaughts nautical nuance free flotilla fun:

"...What we would do if a flotilla made its way toward Guantanamo to deliver aid and comfort to the victims of American aggression, illegal detention or some such. And if that flotilla ignored warnings to turn away and refused to allow U.S. security to board peacefully to examine the contents. And if, once boarded, those on the boats attacked our servicemen. It hasn't happened -- yet. But why not?

"...After all, the flotilla wasn't really about the Palestinians. If it were, then why not float a shipment to the refugee camps in Lebanon? And it's not really about rights. If it were, then why not protest Hamas' treatment of girls in U.N. Relief and Works Agency camps?

"...The spokeswoman for the flotilla made clear that the mission was more about Israel than it was about actually helping anyone; indeed, the flotilla refused to dock for inspection and transportation of goods to Gaza (maybe they were worried someone would think bulletproof vests and night-vision goggles were not educational). It's not even about getting food and medicine to the Palestinians, something Israel facilitates already.

"...There's no need to detail the reactions to this incident -- nor note the glee with which such champions of human dignity as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Daniel Ortega and the U.N. Human Rights Council have responded -- because others have done that job. The Obama administration is getting some credit in some quarters for not jumping on board the anti-Israeli bandwagon. But it deserves little. It is precisely the administration's harping on Israel from nearly day one that has given credence and legitimacy to these over-the-top criticisms.

"...And it is precisely the administration's unwillingness to call Turkey -- a NATO ally -- on the carpet for its cozying up to our enemies that fed Ankara's willingness to sponsor this Potemkin humanitarian effort. No, the White House didn't make matters worse, but it certainly helped pave the way for what occurred.

"...Yes, we can regret what happened and we can criticize the Israeli handling of the entire incident. But Israel has the legal right under international law to ensure that shipments to Gaza do not contain arms -- arms likely to be used against it -- much as every civilized government has the right to protect its citizens within the bounds of the law.

"...And when we justify the performance artists who seek to overturn those rights, we set ourselves up for the same treatment. Maybe not today, but soon.

Blockade Runners

Aside from gaining foreign martyrs for an event that could have been avoided, the Strip's rocket rich rejectionist regime has gained vital PR destined to blow off the ballot box for another year and Palestine Little Satan diplomacy as well

"...In the short term, Hamas will benefit politically from its role as a supporter of the flotilla, its public calls for Israel to not interfere with the effort to break the blockade, and the burnishing of its fading "resistance" credentials. Ismail Haniyah set up the situation as a win-win for Hamas in his May 29 speech declaring that it was a victory if the flotilla got through or if Israel stopped it. The bloody outcome only increased the size of the victory for Hamas.

"...Previously, Hamas had launched a broad media campaign to focus attention on the flotilla and warn of the possibility of an Israeli action against it. Since the incident, Hamas media organs have given extensive coverage to it, prominently depicting the role and actions of Hamas officials. Hamas's public role in the events makes the Palestinian Authority (PA) look bad by comparison.

"...For the most part, Hamas has considerably trailed the PA in support among Palestinians, so Hamas is hoping the incident will give it at least a temporary boost. It should be pointed out that even the sympathy boost that Hamas garnered after the 2008-2009 Gaza war evaporated in just two months.

"...The Gaza flotilla interdiction incident cannot be seen as other than a major victory for Hamas. The outcome, the images, and the reflexive condemnation of the action by much of the world are all of direct benefit to Hamas and to the detriment of its opponents -- especially Israel, but the PA as well. Hamas will see immediate political gains as well as potential long-term practical benefits for its rule in Gaza.

Turkey's role in all this may be a power play of sorts

"...For the first time in its history, Ankara has chosen sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, demanding that Israel take steps to ease the blockade of Gaza or risk unspecified "consequences." Well before the recent crisis, the Turks had positioned themselves as thinly veiled advocates for Hamas, which has long been on the U.S. State Department's list of terrorist organizations

"...This parallel is rather odd. Turkey's Islamists always sought to process their grievances peacefully, while the Islamic Resistance Movement -- Hamas's actual name -- has a history of violence. Ankara's warm embrace of Hamas has not only angered the Israelis, but other U.S. regional allies including Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, and Saudi Arabia.

"...Turkey asserting itself more than in the Middle East, where it has gone from a tepid observer to an influential player in eight short years. In the abstract, Washington and Ankara do share the same goals: peace between Israel and the Palestinians; a stable, unified Iraq; an Iran without nuclear weapons; stability in Afghanistan; and a Western-oriented Syria.

"...When you get down to details, however, Washington and Ankara are on the opposite ends of virtually all these issues.

Flotilla Fight

Amazing vid of rowdy HAMAS fans' seaborne chicanery against Little Satan's navy.

Seems like Turkey set up this 'crisis' to estab bona fides as a leader in the ME or HAMAS via Mullahopolis is making a play to turn internat'l 'Peace' activists into martyrs to discredit, discombobulate and isolate Little Satan.

Repentant Ottomans never really seemed to care much about Palestine.

Until Iran purchased HAMAS...

A Nation At War

Sometime back - one of Great Satan's super intelligentsia whispered that

"...A society as blessed as ours - its people safe even while at war, prosperous even amidst economic crisis - needs to be reminded that such blessings come at a cost. Memorial Day is a time to remember, but it is more than that

"Good men and women go off to war on our behalf, and some do not return.

"On Memorial Day, we observe more than the fact that people died, but also how their deaths came to pass, and in what cause. We commemorate not just their sacrifice, but the context that gives meaning to both the fate they suffered and the lives they led.

"We recognize the commitment to selfless service that brought them to a fateful day in an out-of-the-way place they had never heard of before they died there

"Memorial Day is not simply about remembering our fallen; it is a day when we should fully and properly express our gratitude.

"America owes them everything.

America has been at war across eight Last Days of May - and longer - and those kids who were 4th or 5th graders at the time are now at the front in a frontless war and may very well pay the ultimate price

Word Games

Checkmate!

In the unreal world of the diplopolititary, language -- words-- are brazenly subtle at times and often convey a smokescreen of sorts for the actual actions and activities acted out - the very mirror opposite of walking the walk and talking the talk.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

Essentially - consider:

44's admin and their new unimproved Nat'l Sec Strat makes use of not using certain terms while actually plotting preps to enrage enemies without ever breathing any enemy related nomenclature.

Jesus weaponry at squad level (as far as we know!) has been banned, Xian ministers uninvited and that which must not be named stricken from official vocab.

Yet at the same incredible instant, scantily clad hotties are escorted into combat zones to get the troops all het up, intolerant enemies may soon face the fruits of the biz end of Don't ask - Don't tell while Great Satan racks up record numbers of enemies vaporized without trial, appeal or even a whisper of a warning.

As best understood - certain elements regard the loaded jurisprudence of a tactic AKA "...taqiyyah..." as

"Concealing or disguising one's beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury." A one-word translation would be "Dissimulation."

Got it.

Great Satan has a similar def, bay bee.
