However, the use of the U.S. flag as an article of clothing or to cover ones bum is extremely disrespecful of the flag, and is a violation of a number of articles in the U.S. Flag Code (U.S. Code Title 4 Chapter 1).

Among other things, the flag code states that:

The flag should not be used as "wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery"...

The flag should never be drawn back or bunched up in any way.

The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose.

I expect better from GSGF.Steve Masonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719362718346107647.post-45467509335908899092010-10-04T03:37:47.380-04:002010-10-04T03:37:47.380-04:00Iran pulls that kind of crap most every time the U...Iran pulls that kind of crap most every time the US makes a Straits transit through Hormuz. Making it even more fun is the "philippino monkey". Who gets on bridge-to-bridge and broadcasts offensive across common channels.

One transit I made we had an old SH-2 helicopter from the IRGCN fly about 50 ft to port of the vessel I was aboard, just because it was US flagged.

Iran has a sense that it is invulnerable because of Hormuz, to an extent, they are right. It will be a bloody mess next time something bad happens in those waters.Fox Connernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719362718346107647.post-21297418363360865192008-01-15T22:25:00.000-05:002008-01-15T22:25:00.000-05:00Excellent post, GF. This is indeed worrisome, but it is not the first time that Iran speedboats were the tools chosen for predation, so it's good to know that their MO has not changed in the past decade and a half. What is equally troubling, although on another plane, is Iran's decision to destroy the Tomb of King Cyrus, the Persian king who called for the return of the Jewish exiles. The destruction of the Tomb is just more evidence that Islamists are planning on a general campaign to sever the Persian people from their non-Islamic heritage. The question to ask is what non-Islamic culture's historical site will be next on their hit list?Smoothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04092783206865587880noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719362718346107647.post-70405351054892054862008-01-14T15:42:00.000-05:002008-01-14T15:42:00.000-05:00The reviews seem to be mixed, with some thinking w...The reviews seem to be mixed, with some thinking we should have blown them out of the water, and others saying restraint was the correct option.

I wasn't there and I think that makes a difference. There was no way our guys could have known the boxes were empty. That's what worried me. But if they correctly refrained and stopped escalation, then they did good. I trust the guys on the ships.

Debbie Hamilton
Right TruthRight Truthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18274108313586611205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719362718346107647.post-55322225200591161422008-01-14T13:18:00.000-05:002008-01-14T13:18:00.000-05:00Love the photo, Courtney.
