All new - nothing like it ever!
Totally incorrect.
It has been done before - and it is more like a ghost story to freak out the kids than anything else.
That Greek temple looking spot - and the elevator harken something a bit sinister.
And it should. For it is the model of Ceaser Augustus' deified shrine at Pergamon. An ancient Greek temple to Zeus in ancient Greek colonies in Asia Minor or modern Turkey.
Hauled to Berlin by Deutsch archeologist Karl Humann, the exhibit and the alter served as the inspiration for Albert Speer's demonic shrine to der fuhrer at Zeppelinfeld in Nazi time Germany - where der Fuhrer held the massive 'Nürnburg Rallies.
The main spot - where der fuhrer furiously fomented devilish designs had an elevator that rose up and the waiting room antechamber was an artistically created copy of the Temple.
Nazi fanboy Albert Speer later lamented that most of his designs were 'fascist' in that they tended to make one feel small.
Zeppelinfeld in the old Imperial City of Nürnburg was all about being larger than life - and a bit more too -
"With their gigantic dimensions, the grounds and the architecture were
meant to suggest to the individual visitor to the Party Rallies that he was participating in something major and significant, while at the same time conveying the impression of his own insignificance.
All the buildings moreover glorified the two central myths of the Third
Reich: the Führer myth, who was seen to be sent by Providence as a national saviour, and the myth of a national community founded upon collective uplifting experiences and feelings."
One of the catchy chants was that the Fuhrer's name was the victory.
Tune in and see if a chill manifests itself as something semi weird, uncool and a mite scary.
Event wise - Obama = der fuhrer?
NO!
Event wise Hitlerian?
Maybe.
Absolutely right Coutrney, I didn't think about this. I think Obama's ego is writing checks he... well you know the old saying.
ReplyDeleteBill Clinton sucked it up and put on a good little Dem face tonight, didn't he? Don't you know he had to go to the little boy's room and vomit when he was done?
Wonder how much the Obama campaign paid the Clintons to get them to perform so well???

Right Truth
But I'll tell you where one parallel does fit the Hitler template: if Oblahblah does win in November, and -- as being media-projected -- the Regressives do expand their majorities in House and Senate, then one can look for such things as (a)packing of the Supreme Court with indoctrinaire judges who'll start socially engineering the Bill of Rights, to put conservatives in their place and (b) the Fairness Doctrine will target for removal the great bulk of conservative talk radio, so the Regressives can reclaim their media triad monopoly, and resume dumbing down the population to assure entitlement-mentality compliance during election cycles.
ReplyDeleteWhat Regressives repeatedly fail to grasp -- or do, and will never admit it -- is that socialism IS what Hitler was all about.
Interesting historical analogy, Courtney!
ReplyDeleteWell done...!
Obama's ego has grown so large that there isn't a hat in the world that can fit on his head.
ReplyDeleteHis designs are from the Nazis. His church is racist. And his politics are just short of communism. And yet he has a group of Americans held in the spell of his speeches.
Another leader had that power once:
Adolph Hitler.
Terrific! Just stole it. lol

His recently abandoned church, TUCC, has close ties to Farrakahn, and is decidedly "anti-Zionist".
ReplyDeleteI've read a lot of analogies between the Obama pheno and Hitler's rise include the charisma, that chants, the secret salutes and the our-country-is-failing-so-we-need-change rhetoric. But this is my fav . . . especially since the whole Greek temple set just bugs the hell out of me. Hope you don't mind if i link.
ReplyDeleteI am completely creeped out. And officially. Courtney I am waiting for them to mention terrorism...any chance of that by the dems? :)N
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post, Courtney! What, you mean you didn't think all the way back to the great Roman emperors and confuse Obama with them? HA!
